This is a 1-week extension to Northern Sweden's Biggest Game Jam!

Hosted by Arctic Game as part of the Global Game Jam, this collection of games was developed in the small town of Jörn!

With a local residency of just around 600 people, the jam is a yearly boost to the local community as it literally boosts the population size by around 25% & provides a lot of excitement to the Jörnians.

Diversifiers (extra challenges)

Every year there are some extra goals you can tick off called "diversifiers", if you're feeling especially adventurous!

Check them out here!

## You can choose up to 4 when submitting on the GGJ website! ##

Some highlights include:

  • Crafty - Your game incorporates physical arts and crafts created by the developers (e.g. knitting, sculpture, quilling, embroidery, woodcarving, lino printing, etc.)
  • Two-fold - Your game incorporates origami
  • You’ve got mail - The game is played via email
  • Tranquility - Use music and sounds to induce a sense of calmness and relaxation
  • Incognito - Your gameplay, artwork, etc. initially gives players the impression that they are not playing a game
  • Herding cats - The player controls five or more characters
  • In a liminal space - The game is set in some kind of eerie empty space, like an abandoned mall or a vacant hotel
  • Time is a flat circle - The ending of your game seamlessly merges back to its beginning in a loop
  • Documentary - Document & share your development process publicly during the jam, for example through posts, screenshots, videos, or builds

Rating

Once all games are submitted, rating will open to the public for another week. Each game can then be played and rated out of 5 according to the following criteria:

  • Relevance to the theme - "Bubble"
  • Art
  • Sound
  • Overall Enjoyment

We are also using a rating queue system to minimise cheating or gain from the team having a big social media following etc. This means you'll have to play 5 games minimum before your rankings are counted.

Please check out and support your fellow jammers!

There may also be chances for games to be featured in Arctic Game events, such as at a Café på Bit game night!
