The Climate Pact Game Jam is an on-site event where you create playful and powerful visions through your games. Join us in Vienna's Blumenfabrik and create climate-themed games, with a special focus on how all of us can contribute to a sustainable transformation.
Four different challenges will be revealed during the kick-off on 4 April, and expert mentors will provide input and support you during the jam.
The final games will be showcased and promoted by the Climate Pact to inspire others to take action!

On-site Game Jam | 4 April 2025 (20:00) - 6 April 2025 (18:00)
Blumenfabrik, Vienna
After a quick introduction to the European Climate Pact, its sustainability and climate action goals, we'll reveal the four Jam challenges, and you can dive right into finding your teams and getting to work on your ideas.
Also, no worries about food and drinks, we've got you covered. And if you want to hack through the night or take a healthy midnight nap, you're welcome to stay at the Blumenfabrik (just make sure to bring a sleeping bag and mat).

- (On-site) Participation
The jam is open to everyone interested in strengthening our climate efforts and fostering a community around them. To support local community building, this jam requires on-site participation (also, it's simply more fun that way). - Game Theme
The game needs to fit the general theme of the Climate Pact and tackle one of the four challenges announced on 4 April. - Engines
Godot, Unreal, Unity, Custom,... you name it, it's allowed. Please try to make your game browser-friendly. - Teams
There is no limit to your team size but 3-5 is encouraged. Pre-made teams are allowed. - Originality
You should work on a new game but you are allowed to use pre-made assets, as long as you have the rights to use them. - Things to avoid
No offensive or NSFW content (e.g., sexual or gore; when in doubt consider that we would like to be able to promote your creations without issues). No AI-generated assets. - Submission
Games must be submitted through itch.io (Terms of Service). Answer the submission question and set your game up for in-browser play. - Ownership
Anything you create remains yours. We claim no rights or ownership of your game. - Coverage
If you participate in the game jam, you confirm that we may use and highlight your game in promotional activities, such as media coverage of the event. Participation in the event is no guarantee that your game will be featured in such a way. During the event, pictures and videos will be taken. During sign-up for the event, we will ask for your consent to take and use these. This consent is optional and not a requirement to participate in the event. - Be decent!
Be kind, respectful and friendly. If you notice problematic behavior during the event, please talk to the organizers so that we can ensure a safe and productive environment for everyone.
